Podcasts are one of the fastest growing content platforms — and I love listening to them to keep my inspiration high, learn what others are up to, and up my game when it comes to growing my own business. Being an entrepreneur can often be isolating, as many work from home. Rising into leadership can disconnect you from peers and your team. Listening to podcast interviews can help you feel more connected and work out challenges that you might feel stuck by. I’ve recently compiled a list of my favorite podcasts to listen to (some of which I found when they interviewed me for their show.)
So get out your favorite podcast app (I like iTunes and the Women in Podcasting Directory, but you can find these on all of the main platforms) and start listening! Here’s my list in no particular order.
1. Entrepreneur on Fire with John Lee Dumas
Named best of iTunes in 2013, JLD (as he often refers to himself) has a 5 day a week podcast that is ON FIRE! John gets his guests to share what’s REALLY going on – the struggles and the successes. As a matter of fact, JLD interviewed me on episode 326, when I was still deep in burnout mode. You’ll get inspired by some pretty interesting entrepreneurs listening to this show.
2. Cool Things Entrepreneurs Do with Thom Singer
A paid emcee and keynote speaker, Thom jumped into the podcast movement to find out what cool things entrepreneurs were doing – then landed on the INC.com as one of 8 podcasts to listen to in 2018. Now THAT’s cool.
3. Spirit, Purpose and Energy with JJ Flizanes
This author and fitness expert turned professional podcaster has seven hot podcasts (one for each day of the week.) From relationships to paleo cooking, JJ covers some pretty awesome topics but I must admit my favorite is Spirit, Purpose and Energy (and when she interviewed me on Episode 64 to talk about the thoughts that block our success it was fun to have a whole bunch of new Amplify Your Success Community members join!)
4. Reinvention Radio With Steve Olsher, Mary Goulet and Richard Otey
Reinvention Radio is recorded live down in San Diego, California then dropped on this popular podcast. With three co-hosts, the energy is high as they drill into the reinventions their guests have navigated. I joined Reinvention Radio right before the holidays in 2017 to talk about http://reinventionradio.com/listen-live/breaking free of growth bottlenecks. Listen in to hear how Richard tries to trick me with a NOEL joke.
5. Business of Story with Park Howell
Host Park Howell is a genius when it comes to creating brand stories that sell – and brings to the listener weekly shows highlighting the different ways that people leverage the power of story in their business. This show now has Business of Story Magazine that spotlights several of the popular podcast interviews (including my feature on the stories that shape our brand!)
6. Speaker Success Podcast by Women Speakers Association and host, Annemarie Cross
Women inspiring women to share their message – and get paid! That’s the theme of this podcast (which in full disclosure I’m an Executive Producer for the show but learn so much on every episode!) Each episode showcases a member of the Women Speakers Association who shares their tip on building a successful speaker business – or how a success story of how speaking has helped them impact more lives. The show is hosted by our Australian member, Annemarie Cross, which brings a global feel to the listeners. I helped kick off the series on one of the first episodes talking about the keys to standing out in your industry as an influencer.
7. Biz Women Rock with Katie Krimitsos
The Biz Women Rock podcast is the home for incredible stories from super savvy business women in all sorts of different industries who share the real stories about their business journeys; the ups, the downs and everything in between! Not only will you feel connected to these women, but you’ll walk away with practical strategies and tools they discuss that will impact your business immediately! I learned about this podcast in 2014 as a guest talking about how to scale your business!
8. Super Power Up Kids with Neva Lee Recla
Neva is eight years old and started her first business when she was four. Neva is on a mission to inspire million kids to start their own businesses. Her topics with her guests range from tapping into your super powers, alternative healing and anything to do with superheroes and cool animal stories. Have your kids turn off the TV and tune in to Neva!
9. Business Building Rockstars with Nicole Holland
When you want to hear the REAL story behind a successful small business owner, be sure to tune in to the Business Building Rockstar Show. Nicole asks her guests provocative and intriguing questions that get the listener thinking about success in a whole new light. Catch my chat with Nicole about bottlenecks, productivity and how burnout redefined success for me.
10. Positive Productivity Podcast with Kim Sutton
Anytime you can make productivity fun and more heartfelt, I’m in! Kim spotlights guests who share their unique approach to the show’s three pillars: Self-Care, Systems and Support. Each show runs about 20 minutes so you can listen on your way to the gym (or running errands!)
11. The Go-Giver Podcast with Bob Burg
Bob Burg’s best-selling books on the Go-Giver approach are now amplified by the guests on his show, Go-Giver Podcast. Bob keeps his interviews short and power-packed (about 15 minutes) and talks with people who have integrated the Go-Giver principles. In 2017 I joined Bob on the show to talk about profit and awakening leadership.
12. Consciously Speaking with Michael Neeley
Michael Neeley found that personal development transformed his life, and eventually become the inspiration to start his own coaching business. On Consciously Speaking, Michael talks with all different kinds of spiritual growth and personal development experts. I joined Michael on his show to talk about Spiral Dynamics and how the values levels influence our lives.
13. Leaders of Transformation with Nicole Jansen
I love this podcast because I love conversations about leadership. Nicole interviews people who have become the leaders of their niche or in their career and I learn a lot about how to think like, and become a confident leader. Nicole talked with me about the growth bottlenecks and burnout many leaders face and it became a very surprising chat!
14. Spiritual Entrepreneur with Devi Adea
The conscious business movement has grown exponentially – so entrepreneurs are hungry to learn from and connect with spiritual content. Devi hosts popular experts who integrate their spiritual growth into their work. This show is enlightening while full of powerful business growth tips.
15. Intimate Conversations with Allana Pratt
This show is rated “R” (and sometimes on the “X” side) but it’s delicious. Allana has conversations that most people only have with their closest friends – and brings out the truth about sex, relationships and intimacy. Word has it that Allana is having me back on her show soon to talk about the Magic of Bold. Tune in if you are ready to open up your heart to more intimacy!
16. Amplify Your Success with Melanie Benson
Yep, this show is mine, and if you want to expand your business success beyond what you’ve thought possible, then tune in. Each week I dig into some of the best ways to reach more clients, achieve your BIGGEST goals and exponentially increase your income.
