Strengths Based Leadership: Great Leaders, Teams and Why People Follow by Tom Roth and Barry Conchie

The latest book I bought for my clients, Strengths Based Leadership provides a new context to the StrengthsFinder 2.0 assessment. If you lead teams,  collaborate with others or are building your business and considering outsourcing, you’ll find this new material helpful. My mastermind members quickly discovered why some activities in business building drained them so quickly — while they could get lost for days doing things they are naturally good at.

For me, I found the groupings of strengths illuminating — both for my own team and for my clients as I coach them. If you get the hard copy book it includes a code to take the newest StrengthsFinder Assessment with the leadership focused feedback inside.  Click the image for the audio book or get the hard copy book here.

The Magic of Thinking Big by David Schwartz

Thinking big is often equated with taking on a goal that is so scary that you feel overwhelmed, then defeated when you don’t accomplish it. In the Magic of Thinking Big, David Schwartz shares why thinking big can radically improve your results in all areas of your life and business. The book gives you several starting points to develop and strengthen the most important trait of successful people: believing in yourself.

Written in 1959, the ideas and strategies inside are meant to activate your possibility thinking and get you to stop playing small. Its the first book I sent my mastermind clients — and I’m reading it for the second time right now. Click the image for the audio book or get the hard copy book here.

The Habits of a Happy Brain: Retrain Your Brain to Boost Your Serotonin, Dopamine, Oxytocin & Endorphin Levels by Loretta Graziano

A shocking number of business leaders, entrepreneurs and influencers are riddled with anxiety, depression and a negative outlook. In this revolutionary book you’ll uncover WHY our brains get hooked into negative patterns, and even better, how to activate the hormones your body already has to feel better. Think of it like this, “feelings that fire together, wire together.” Which means, if you had trauma or repeatedly negative experiences along with some every day behaviors, your brain may have trapped negative feelings as your “default position.”

I absolutely loved this book and have recommended it several times. Between the neuro-science behind happiness and the practical advice, I found this to be one of the most valuable books I’ve ever read. Click the image for the audio book or get the hard copy book here.

What I Know for Sure by Oprah Winfrey

A total feel good book, this one is just for the sheer joy of hearing Oprah’s wisdom and insights along with a few life stories. Each chapter is a short story of her life’s journey and how it evolved her or what her learning was. Everyone I know listened (or read) the book with total glee.

Pick it up just to have a quick read that will boost your own happiness, and give you a positive outlook on life. Click the image for the audio book or get the hard copy book here.
